So many have found the passing of Queen Elizabeth to be saddening and disheartening. She’d been on the throne for many years and so many had seen her as synonymous with everything British. I’m sure she’d seen and endured many highs and lows, ups and downs like anyone else. That’s the same for the stages in life. Ecclesiastes 3 reminds us that there’s a time to laugh and a time to cry. There’s a time for embracing and a time to turn away. In other words, God’s timing is everything. In His timing, there’s an order through the God who is good and in control of all things, even the passing of a loved one.
I’m sure we can all relate to the passing of a loved one, a friend or even the loss of someone or something special in or lives. When I was younger, I had a great friend. My BFF and I had lots of fun as teens. But then, life came up and we don’t talk much now. She’s living her life and God’s got things for me to do, which I’m so grateful for. A healthy Christian lifestyle comes with a healthy dose of handling life in a way that would focus and honor God. So, we seek Him even when people come and go in our lives. When we keep our eyes set on Him and His goodness we realize He is our source and giver of good things. He says He has plans for us in Jeremiah 29:11 and they are good plans because He is the Good God!
